Jesus’ arrival was expected, but it certainly came in an unexpected way. From the moment he was conceived in Mary’s womb, he had entered a scandal: born as an “illegitimate” child, Mary’s alleged betrayal of Joseph, Joseph’s near divorce, and a furious Herod devising to kill all the babies in the region. Yet this was God’s way of bringing salvation to his people, making a way for Christ to arrive in our hearts today.

Key Verse(s):

Matthew 1:18-25

Jesus’ arrival was expected, but it certainly came in an unexpected way. From the moment he was conceived in Mary’s womb, he had entered a scandal: born as an “illegitimate” child, Mary’s alleged betrayal of Joseph, Joseph’s near divorce, and a furious Herod devising to kill all the babies in the region. Yet this was God’s way of bringing salvation to his people, making a way for Christ to arrive in our hearts today.
