Young Adults
The Waverley Young Adults is a ministry designed for those in that stage of life between high school and raising a family (18-25yrs). Whether you are heading into the work force, studying at University or applying years of education to your career choice, this ministry is here to connect you with others to build lasting friendships, give you opportunities to serve in various settings and help to build your faith through studies of the Bible.
What do we value?
- Growing together in holiness
- Teaching from the Scriptures
- Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ
- Serving our church community, the city of Winnipeg and the world.
How do we go about this?
We meet three times a month on Thursdays, in a rotation of three distinct gatherings. In our Study Together gathering, we are currently going through the book of Isaiah, hearing teaching as we study and apply the Word of God in discussion. In our Worship and Prayer Together gathering, we are led through a prepared liturgy of Scripture reading, songs, a devotional and prayer in small groups. In Celebrate Together, we gather for board games, outings and service opportunities to continue to foster friendships and connections.
We are a welcoming community that seeks to care, support and disciple one another defined by the word of God to the glory of God in Christ. It is our hope that young adults grow intentionally among a body of local believers of all ages. Those from outside Waverley are always welcome to attend our gatherings, including those without a church home. In that light, we encourage a believer’s primary presence and care be to their own local church. For more information, please contact Pastor Greg. We’d love to see you attend!
“We constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus be glorified in you and you in him, according to the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
