What do God’s people hold on to in the midst of suffering, darkness and the presence of evil? Daniel 8 leads us to see that despite evil raging and transgressions rising, we can be assured of God’s sovereign reign, His wise judgements and His grace to restore unto His glory. These realities lead us to examine our hearts in light of God’s rule, to stand firm in Christ’s work and to be eager for Christ’s return as God empowers. Even when hope seems bleak, the Light sovereignly shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
