Waverley Membership

When the Church was founded by Christ as described in the New Testament, it was described using several metaphors.  The church is called the body of Christ, the family of God and the flock.  All of these metaphors describe a church that is meant to be a gathering of people who identify with one another and are part of a unified whole.  Historically the church has called born again believers who are involved in a local church to be members of that body, that family, that flock.

At Waverley, we value membership.  We encourage all those who call Waverley their home church to take the step of becoming members as it is important for their relationship to the church.  Membership provides a tangible declaration of affiliation and dedication along with certain advantages not afforded those who are not members.  The ability to disciple, care for the spiritual needs of individuals and ensure accountability is all enhanced through membership. There is significance to making the relationship to the church official through membership.

There is a great deal more that could be said and explained regarding membership, so we would encourage you to contact us if you would like to talk more about it.  If you have been faithfully attending Waverley and have not taken the step to be a member, we would encourage you to contact us and we would be happy to meet with you to explain our process and expectations for becoming a member.

Please contact us if you’d like to become a member or learn more about membership.
