Volunteering is a great way to get connected at Waverley and there are always meaningful opportunities waiting for someone just like you. Below are a list of places where individuals, such as yourself, often find opportunities to serve. These range from one-time events to on-going commitments, from behind-the-scenes tasks to front-and-center positions, from working with preschoolers to working with senior adults! With this variety, you are sure to find an area that best fits your interests, gifts, and availability.

The best way to get involved at Waverley is to do the following three things:

1. Check out our current list of ministries.

The following is a list of all the Ministries that Waverley currently promotes. Once you've explored the opportunities, take time to prayerfully consider where God might want you to serve.

  • Small Groups (Life Groups, Bridge Groups) - Small Groups are communities of 4 to 16 individuals that meet either weekly or bi-weekly for a time of connecting, encouragement, bible study, and prayer.
  • Kids Spot (hosts) - Kids Spot is a free drop-in indoor play place for preschool children ages 0-5. We desire to be a support for parents by providing a safe and comfortable environment for children to play with others.
  • Children's ministries (Sunday mornings, midweek program, Summer Kids Week, Discovery Time) - The mission for our children’s ministry is to be a growing community dedicated to raising up fully devoted followers who will make an eternal difference with their lives.
  • Youth ministries - Our youth ministry exists to reach students for Christ, to help them share God’s Word, to offer themselves in service to Christ and to care for one another.
  • Young Adults ministries - The goal of our Young Adults ministry is to provide an enjoyable environment for young adults to have fun, feel loved, and most importantly to see them come to know Christ.
  • Women's ministries - Our goal is to support the mission of Waverley by fostering and developing an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible Study, Christian service to others and fellowship.
  • Men's ministries - The Men's ministry is here simply to serve and mentor the men of Waverley and to create an environment where men can experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
  • Seniors ministries - An inviting environment for people 60 and older, with activities and events that cultivate social relationships, spiritual and educational development, and service to others.
  • Prayer ministries (Sunday mornings, prayer chain)
  • Sunday Morning Worship / Tech (instruments, vocalists, multi-media, sound, audio/visual, setup, etc).
  • Sunday Morning Hosts (greeters, ushers, information centre)
